FOLK ART CENTER

Carolina Mountain Woodturners (CMW) is an educational non-profit Chapter (501(c)3) affiliated with the American Association of Woodturners (AAW). Our regular meetings are typically scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month, running from 10 AM to 4 PM. We gather at the Folk Art Center, conveniently located at 382 Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, NC 28805, just south of mile marker 382 on the historic Blue Ridge Parkway.

At these meetings, we feature engaging woodturning demonstrations in the Center's auditorium. These demonstrations are open to the public and free of charge. We extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us and share in the excitement of woodturning.

Folk Art Center Guidelines: When visiting the Folk Art Center, please adhere to these guidelines:

  • Park in marked areas, typically the lower parking lot, to ensure convenience for patrons of the Allanstand store.
  • Avoid bringing food or drink outside of the auditorium.
  • Inside the auditorium, refrain from consuming food or drink in the seating area but feel free to do so on the auditorium's floor level.
  • For any building-related questions or needs (e.g., unlocking doors, heating, cooling, electrical), please contact Tucker Garrison or John Hill to streamline communication.
  • During morning setup, please use the back doors to the auditorium, which will be unlocked between 9:00 and 9:05. Whenever possible, remain in the auditorium area, with doors to the Folk Art Center closed, until after 9:10. Your cooperation is appreciated.
