Using a lathe can be a dangerous activity.  High speed moving parts, sharp tools, potentially toxic wood dust, and dangerous chemicals in wood finishes are just some of the dangers involved in woodturning.

We strongly recommend proper instruction (by a mentor and/or school), a safe working environment, and safe tools, before the lathe is connected to power and used.

A more detailed listing of Lathe Safety Guidelines is available online at: www.woodturner.org/resources/safety.cfm
