About the Class
Three Part Christmas Ornament
This method uses a scrap pine 2×4 to create the hollow globe. Two colors of metallic automotive spray paint brings out the pattern in the wood and make the ornament sparkle. Emphasis is on hollowing technique and spindle turning.
Tools needed are spindle roughing gouge, spindle gouge, hollowing tools. TLC has tools to loan for those who do not have everything needed.
Some experience is helpful but not required.
Biography
An Artisan in the International Guild of Miniature Artisans and a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, I am a woodturner specializing in miniatures, specifically 18th and 19th century replicas in a scale of one inch to one foot.
I teach woodturning at UNC Asheville in SkillSet, a community outreach program that began in 2018 as a shop class for girls and now expands its reach to all members of the community.
I also teach classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and several Woodcraft stores. I have demonstrated all over the United States including the annual symposium hosted by the Southwest Association of Woodturners (SWAT), and online for the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.
My shop is located just outside Asheville, NC.

Cancellation Policy:
In the event you cancel your registration before the cutoff, 100% of your payment will be credited to your member account. This credit may be used for any future club purpose. Cancellation after the cutoff will not be credited unless a member moves off the waitlist. No credit will provided for a “no-show”.
