Location: CMW's Turning Learning Center in Arden, NC
A CMW CLUB SPECIAL EVENT!
Using additional covered space adjacent to the TLC to accommodate an increased number of lathes and lunch on offer, a festive ornament day is planned for turners at all levels of experience.
Free to active CMW members. Advance registration required.
The day will include:
- Demonstrations of various types of ornament making including hollow core, snowpeople and Christmas trees, bird houses, inside-out and more, to inspire and instruct. Demonstrators will have handouts and samples to examine and will discuss embellishing options.
Demonstrators will include experienced turners Tucker Garrison, Thom Crothers, Mike Moore and Crystal Earley!
- The opportunity to start new ornaments or continue and receive advice as needed on ornaments you have already underway
- Access to free blanks that have been generously donated to the club
- Use of club tools as needed and available, though with the expanded number of turners expected you are encouraged to bring your own
- Fun social interaction with old and new woodturning friends, including a White Elephant gift exchange!
- A Holiday Luncheon - no charge but donations will be accepted
- A goal of the day is at least one ornament from each participant to be donated through CMW to the Four Seasons Hospice Store in Hendersonville in support of Four Seasons’ good work. This can be an ornament you've already made, one you have in process, one made on this day, or one started on this day and donated when it is later finished.
